Historical connections

The district history describes Kirat Prakash’s alliance with Amar Singh of Patiala. This is a political relationship, not descent from Ranjit Singh.

Our family story

Sirmaur’s ruling family is associated with Nahan and the eastern hill region. The government pedigree makes Jagat, Dharam and Karam Prakash sons of Kirat Prakash, and follows Karam’s branch through Fateh, Raghbir, Shamsher, Surendra and Amar Prakash. The district history describes alliances, conflict and the recovery of the state after the Gorkha occupation.

Source and relationship notes

Selected historical branches transcribed from the 1940 government pedigree appendix. Parent links mean recorded in this source, not independently proven biological descent. Spelling variants are retained in notes. Gaps are left open; succession alone is not parentage. Recent descendants, current locations, contact details and schooling require further sources and consent. Legendary remote origins are not entered as established ancestry.
The district narrative can be read as implying a different arrangement for Jagat, Dharam and Karam Prakash. This tree follows the explicit chart and flags that source disagreement for review. It does not silently reconcile conflicting generations. Rajindra Prakash and later descendants are outside this checked segment.
